Once the horses get close, the real action explodes on the screen, with a nasty surprise for the riders. Bagpipes, hoofs, armor and chains blend together all around you with the simmering orchestral score in anticipation of what’s about to happen. This exciting scene, depicting the Battle of Stirling, grows in anticipation as the horses pick up their pace in the charge against Wallace and his band of warriors. It depicts the life of William Wallace (played by Mel Gibson) during the first war of Scottish Independence. This 1995 epic won multiple Academy Awards ®. Braveheart – Battle of Stirling Cavalry Charge The visuals, sound effects and sound design are nothing short of superb … all with the classic John Williams theme bursting out of the speakers. Get the subwoofer ready for some high energy Star Wars action. The CGI (computer generated imagery) in this scene includes power shields, laser cannon shot, spaceships exploding and just about everything else you can dream of in a classic spaceship battle - all zipping from the left to the right, in front of and behind you. Talk about going from 0-100 mph! Check it out here. It’s classic action involving modern weapons, fists of fury and lots of great camera angles. Then the action lights up and the close quarters makes for some loud and proud moments that will shake your system. All starts quietly, until Cap, realizing they’re all there to take him on, asks if anyone wants to get out. Going up? In this scene from the 2014 superhero film, Marvel Comics character Captain America, played by Chris Evans, takes on an entire elevator full of bad guys. Captain America The Winter Soldier – Elevator Fight After the drop, fighter jets swoop in on the bombers and your surround speakers (and height speakers too, if you have them!) get a good workout, with gunfire peppering every corner of your room. All is relatively quiet until bursts of flack begin and as each second ticks away, the action, intensity and fire light up your screen. As veteran French film composer Alexandre Desplat’s eerie score sets the mood, a vast formation of bombers flies right into the camera, their engines filling the sound field. This World War II tale of grit and survival resonates strongly every time I see it. But then they might just join you when the action starts. Except maybe one with full-blown surround sound! These are the kinds of exciting films that may even have you turning up your system until the neighbors start a-knocking. Nothing fires up a home theater like a great action movie.

In this case the two correlation coefficients are similar and lead to the same conclusion, however in some cases the two may be very different leading to different statistical conclusions. The Pearson's correlation coefficient for these variables is 0.80. has a high positive correlation ( Table 1). In this case, maternal age is strongly correlated with parity, i.e. The Spearman's coefficient is 0.84 for this data. With these scales of measurement for the data, the appropriate correlation coefficient to use is Spearman's. Maternal age is continuous and usually skewed while parity is ordinal and skewed. That is, we are interested in the strength of relationship between the two variables rather than direction since direction is obvious in this case. The task is one of quantifying the strength of the association. We can expect a positive linear relationship between maternal age in years and parity because parity cannot decrease with age, but we cannot predict the strength of this relationship. Simple application of the correlation coefficient can be exemplified using data from a sample of 780 women attending their first antenatal clinic (ANC) visits. Hence, it would be inconsistent with the definition of correlation and it cannot therefore be said that x is correlated with y. It is possible to predict y exactly for each value of x in the given range, but correlation is neither −1 nor +1. This is so because, although there is a relationship, the relationship is not linear over this range of the specified values of x. In statistical terms, it is inappropriate to say that there is correlation between x and y. For example, consider the equation y=2×2. To emphasise this point, a mathematical relationship does not necessarily mean that there is correlation. 3 Any other form of relationship between two continuous variables that is not linear is not correlation in statistical terms. If, on the other hand, the coefficient is a negative number, the variables are inversely related (i.e., as the value of one variable goes up, the value of the other tends to go down). If the coefficient is a positive number, the variables are directly related (i.e., as the value of one variable goes up, the value of the other also tends to do so). The stronger the correlation, the closer the correlation coefficient comes to ☑. The strength of relationship can be anywhere between −1 and +1. A correlation coefficient of zero indicates that no linear relationship exists between two continuous variables, and a correlation coefficient of −1 or +1 indicates a perfect linear relationship. It is a dimensionless quantity that takes a value in the range −1 to +1 3. 1 Correlation is measured by a statistic called the correlation coefficient, which represents the strength of the putative linear association between the variables in question. In statistical terms, correlation is a method of assessing a possible two-way linear association between two continuous variables. Webster's Online Dictionary defines correlation as a reciprocal relation between two or more things a statistic representing how closely two variables co-vary it can vary from −1 (perfect negative correlation) through 0 (no correlation) to +1 (perfect positive correlation). Misuse of correlation is so common that some statisticians have wished that the method had never been devised. This broad colloquial definition sometimes leads to misuse of the statistical term “correlation” among scientists in research. Among scientific colleagues, the term correlation is used to refer to an association, connection, or any form of relationship, link or correspondence. The term correlation is sometimes used loosely in verbal communication. Definitions of correlation and clarifications Hair Paint Wax ranges from $6.99 to $9.99, depending on the color. I’ll definitely be revisiting the silver color and I plan on trying purple and blue in the near future. It’s worth a try for any natural who’s looking to try some fun colors without commitment and without permanent damage to their hair. Although I wasn’t 100% satisfied with my final results in reference to the color payoff, the overall product is well-made and very easy to work with. Fortunately, it does not stain, so any product that is transferred to your hands or clothing will wash off easily. I also tend to put water and oil in my hair everyday to refresh it until I moisturize it again, and everytime I pulled back silver-tinted hands. As someone who is always fluffing their hair, I saw it more on my hands than anywhere else. I wore the wax in my hair for four days, and while it faded slightly, it really didn’t change much from the initial application considering it’s not a permanent dye. To me, it smelled faintly of men’s deodorant? It wasn’t overpowering, but I definitely noticed it. The only thing I did not enjoy while applying the product was the smell. Unexpectedly, the wax even seemed to have a hold which made my curl pattern look a bit more defined. By the time my hair was completely dry, my hair felt much better, with no excessive dryness. When I initially applied the wax to my hair, it did feel a little drying at first which discouraged me from adding more (I was going for a vibrant color and it ended up being more of a tint”>.īecause the color is buildable and my hair is dark as well as dense, I probably should have added more wax. One thing that impressed me was how well the wax can be incorporated with your daily styling routine, my normal products did not interfere with the color at all. I then separated my hair into more manageable sections to try to get an even application. I used Shea Moisture’s Strengthen & Restore Leave-In Conditioner, Carol’s Daughter Mimosa Hair Honey Shine Pomade, and followed up with Jamaican black castor oil. I read that it was a bit drying and wanted to prevent my hair from becoming dry and stiff in the end. I started off on freshly washed hair and I moisturized it well with my favorite products before applying the wax. Application process?Īpplying the product is very simple, it’s applied directly to damp hair in “small to moderate” amounts, which may be more subjective depending on your hair length and thickness. I was pleased to see that it was a water-based product and I didn’t have any complications or reactions to any of the ingredients. I ordered the color Silver and the first ingredients listed on the container were water, carnauba wax, and beeswax. Hair Paint Wax comes in twelve colors, all of which have a relatively short ingredient list for a hair coloring product. So when I discovered the viral Hair Paint Wax, I knew I had to try it all of the fun of colored hair with no commitment or damage? Win-win. And because my hair is naturally dry, I don’t want to encourage any damage or breakage due to dyes or bleaching. Of course, there will be some minor hiccups here and there, but I want healthy hair above all else. As someone who’s trying to grow out their natural hair while experiencing the least amount of setbacks, coloring my hair has been something I’ve repeatedly put on the backburner, in spite of how amazing it looks. In Congo, more than eighty-five per cent of people work informally, in precarious jobs that pay little, and the cost of living is remarkably high: because the country’s infrastructure has been ravaged by decades of dictatorship, civil war, and corruption, there is little agriculture, and food and other basic goods are often imported. The mayor warned, “You’re going to destroy the neighborhood!” But, Muteba said, “it was complicated for people to accept the mayor’s request.” Muteba had a thriving bakery and didn’t have time to dig, but most locals were desperate. Hundreds of people in Kasulo “began digging in their own plots,” Muteba said. According to the World Bank, in 2018 three-quarters of the country’s population lived on less than two dollars a day. Judging from the amount of ore the man had dug out, he had probably made more than ten thousand dollars-in Congo, a small fortune. “He had already made a lot of money,” Muteba told me. When the man’s landlord got wind of these modifications, they had an argument, and the man fled. Rushing inside, they discovered that the man had carved out a series of underground galleries, following the vein of cobalt as it meandered under his neighbors’ houses. Zanga Muteba, a baker who then lived in Kasulo, told me, “All of us, at that time, we knew nothing.” But one evening he and some neighbors heard telltale clanging noises coming from the man’s house. Instead, he cut through the floor of his house, which he was renting, and dug to about thirty feet, carting out ore at night. Today, he said, the mineral deposits are “higgledy-piggledy folded, broken upside down, back-asswards, every imaginable geometry-and predicting the location of the next buried deposit is almost impossible.” Over time, the sedimentary rocks were buried beneath rolling hills, and salty fluid containing metals seeped into the earth, mineralizing the rocks. Hitzman, who teaches at University College Dublin, explained that the rich deposits of cobalt and copper in the area started life around eight hundred million years ago, on the bed of a shallow ancient sea. Geological Survey scientist who spent more than a decade travelling to southern Congo to consult on mining projects there, told me that residents were “milling about all the time,” hoping for word of fresh discoveries. Many of Kasulo’s ten thousand residents were day laborers Murray Hitzman, a former U.S. The man returned to his district, Kasulo, determined to keep his find secret. One trader told the man that the cobalt ore he’d dug up was unusually pure. (In the rainy season, the earth occasionally turns green, as a result of the copper oxides beneath it.) Many of the traders were Chinese, Lebanese, and Indian expats, though a few Congolese had used their mining profits to set up shops. At the time, the road into the city was lined with corrugated-iron shacks, known as comptoirs, where traders bought cobalt or copper, which is also plentiful in the region. The man took some samples to one of the mineral traders who had established themselves around Kolwezi. Some creuseurs secure permits to work freelance at officially licensed pits, but many more sneak onto the sites at night or dig their own holes and tunnels, risking cave-ins and other dangers in pursuit of buried treasure. Many Congolese have taken jobs at industrial mines in the region others have become “artisanal diggers,” or creuseurs. Kolwezi now has more than half a million residents. In recent decades, hundreds of thousands of Congolese have moved to the formerly remote area. Southern Congo sits atop an estimated 3.4 million metric tons of cobalt, almost half the world’s known supply. The man suspected that his discovery would make him wealthy-if he could get it out of the ground before others did. As global demand for lithium-ion batteries has grown, so has the price of cobalt. Among other things, cobalt keeps the batteries, which power everything from cell phones to electric cars, from catching fire. He had struck a seam of heterogenite, an ore that can be refined into cobalt, one of the elements used in lithium-ion batteries. About eight feet into the soil, his shovel hit a slab of gray rock that was streaked with black and punctuated with what looked like blobs of bright-turquoise mold. As the man later told neighbors, he had intended to create a pit for a new toilet. In June, 2014, a man began digging into the soft red earth in the back yard of his house, on the outskirts of Kolwezi, a city in the southern Democratic Republic of the Congo. I see lots of things online about "how" it could be an issue but no one ever gets into specifics on how the leak actually compromises your IP address to other torrent users. Obvisouly if the tracker was "bad" and logged these addresses, or worse added them to the swarm then there would be an issue however I'm not sure this is how it works. However it does download, even when my DNS is leaking back to my real DNS which is RCN. If the tracker was using my reverse DNS IP address to add me to the swarm then all traffic to my real IP to uTorrent would be blocked by my firewall to the uTorrent application and the torrent obviously would not download. This is using the built in firewall in Windows Server 2012R2, which I imagine works without any issues. When I disconnect the VPN the torrent DL dies as connections are lost and the cache runs out. I don't think the tracker uses your IP address this way to add you to the swarm, because I have Windows Firewall configured to only allow uTorrent traffic over my virtual VPN NIC, for both inbound and outbound. I think that DNS leaking is an issue when your torrent client uses DNS to resolve a tracker hostname, which if the tracker wanted to, could log your IP at that time (which would be your real ISP IP not VPN address). From what I understand the way bittorrent works is based on peer-to-peer IP based communication. I don't fully understand why DNS leaking is an issue for torrents. this is not true :/Īlso, its not for sure that in the consequences will remain the same :( "they won't even do that if you object and threaten them with a lawsuit.". The next step might be to try different clients (e.g., different browsers) or even swap over to a 1080p stream to keep things less complicated and see if that will work. I wonder if somebody from the team could explain that and maybe point towards where the issue is occurring, but I wonder if this is an issue with HEVC + 4K version being transcoded + tonemapped for clients (or needing to be and can't be). I don't know if your server is capable of transcoding simultaneous streams of the same media for each client and - honestly - I have no clue how SyncPlay works on the server + client(s) end of things.
